2027 Finance Bill: corporate tax, tax expenditures… what changes and what to expect

Mohamed Hamdache Nov 5, 2026

Mohamed Hamdache unpacks the tax provisions of the 2027 Finance Bill, currently before Parliament, for Le Matin.

In the first part of this interview, the Tax Partner at Baker Tilly in Morocco looks at the 5% advance payment required from importers from 1 July 2027. He sees it first as a compliance mechanism: “tax compliance becomes your pass through customs.” Yet the cash impact should not be underestimated. A company importing MAD 10 million of goods with a profit of MAD 500,000 would pay MAD 100,000 in corporate income tax, having already advanced MAD 500,000 at customs.

He also discusses the 40% corporate tax rate for hydrocarbon distributors and puts the expected 31.8% rise in corporate tax revenue in perspective. Finally, he sets out the four dates finance departments should keep in mind up to the first 2027 instalment.

His advice: anticipate.
