Mohamed Hamdache and Noureddine Baqchich certified as "Independent Directors" by the Order of Chartered Accountants
Mohamed Hamdache and Noureddine Baqchich are among the 33 chartered accountants in the fourth cohort
Mohamed Hamdache and Noureddine Baqchich, partners at Baker Tilly Morocco, have completed the Independent Director programme run by the Moroccan Order of Chartered Accountants through its training institute, IFOEC, together with the Belgian Institute for Tax Advisors and Accountants (ITAA).
An independent director sits on the board with no ties to management or reference shareholders. The role is to bring an outside perspective to the accounts, the risks and the strategic decisions.
The programme approaches governance through what makes it tangible: how a board actually works, the place it gives to risk management, the way CSR and ESG requirements enter its decisions. It also covers the settings where the director’s role carries particular weight: family businesses, listed companies and those raising capital from the public, and state-owned entities.
For our clients, this means a sharper reading of governance, internal control and board composition.
Since its launch in 2022, the programme has trained 124 chartered accountants.
